Star Power and the Blood of the Indigent. 4 Months ago
I have some sense of the star attractions and powers of pop stars. But the one wielded by a certain Tewodros is an epitome of a Nation that has lost its juices and one on the brink of coming apart. No wonder some wily visiting foriegners say Addis is the whorebelt of the Horn.I mean an army of scantly dressed girls and guys with multiple piercings blocked traffick around our 'Old Bailey' , the Lideta district. The reason? the vocalist is a prime suspect in a death involving a street kid around 4 kilo.Their demand?Let the law take a holiday, it is Teddy we are talkng about here.Let him go, they chanted! The blood curling incident was, they tried to tune in some kind of gospel song for the occassion.Good old blind folded Justice sees that kid's blood as red as Ted's.Some one has to answer for that blood spilled, a child's blood. And our people break in to a chorus for the release of the suspect not for doing justice to the dead kid.May be it is as Napoleon said God is with the strongest regiment, I don't know. The thing is people around here have a twisted sense of good and evil.

Oh, yeah? that is what you think I am? Just a wee bit you are right, though. 'cos you aren't the first one to call me that.
But truly ,Zee, you would want them to drop dead , freaking cold dead, believe me if you had seen them the way I did.
Later officers around the area told me that half of them kids are chat and pot crazed and that they are not to blame.
You see pretty much of these kind of people in Ethiopia, these days. They think it is being cool or some thing.
They think that is basically what the whiteman's world is, which they try to ape.
I took this thing about Tewodros seriously and took it up with a lawyer friend ,he told me, 'on this one the court did one detour and that is it allowed Ted to appear twice a week when there are hundreds of thousands who has the chance to make such appearance once in a month.'
It is a plain case of 'hit and run' and the guy is going to pay for it just as any one of us.That is why I love the law , next to Colonel Colt, it is the one good equalizer.

Yes, Tedy is not diffrent than any body except he is a good singer that touched everone but when it comes to crime he has to go through all the process of the justice system. I do not think those street dureyes, and gangesters you see in such occasion and public demonstrations speaks about the country. I support Tedy only if he comes out clean and said I am sorry and tries to bargain of his release. Why any one with good mind think the government is conspiring to arrest Tedy? Just Boloni!! On the other hand Lena I am amazed your interest on everything in this forum but also I found you to be a person inside the little box when you consider Habesha as an evil, believe me you need to open your eyes and read about the whole human race or get info. then you will say Habesha's are actually the same as anyone else in our universe. Get out of the box please and widen your lenses.

Hm, on second thought you got a point there, buddy.
I mean when you say I need to break out of the box.
But you should ask, how did I get in to the box in the first place?
I thought I loved this country and opened Pandoras' box only to find horrible creatures as scarry as a hydra headed monster.Love for this Nation got me in to the box.
Don't worry it is a piece of cake for me to walk away. But before that I wanna see every thing that is mean and stupid about our dear old granny lest I might miss it later.
For now what echoes in my ears is Frederick Nzietch's(I have always some difficulty spelling his name) words about a Nation of lies and impostors
"I flew away as the skeleton beckoned me with love."
